![]() ![]() The cheap suits I have are polyester and wool blends, or entirely wool except the lining. Sure, the cheap ones don't have that fit that you get from a canvassed suit, but whatever, they're cheap compared to canvassed ones. I have expensive and cheap suits, durability isn't different 2-3 years in. Spot clean, if you want to make it smell fresh, just put it in the outside air for a few hours (though don't leave it under the sun on midday obviously). MFA has a lot of these debates of durability, but in the case of suits, you're literally not supposed to wash them and dry cleaning them isn't a great idea either because realistically speaking you shouldn't need to do it much. If you get a good suit and take care of it, it will last a very long time. You can get two suits for a portion of the cost of a single SS suit.Īlso, J.Crew Factory is a good option as well, albeit with far less selection since OP presumably would be looking through their clearance rack for a cheap suit.Īnd they won't last long. However, going into an Express or even better, their site and buying a $99 suit jacket and $74 suit pant when their stuff goes 50% off on holidays (such as Black Friday coming up) isn't a bad idea if you don't want to spend Suit Supply money. Now, do I recommend buying from Amazon? Holy hell no, those suits look cheap even by cheap suit standards. People will take notice of the colour, pattern and most of all, fit (especially if you don't fuck up colour or pattern). Ok, but 99% of people he will meet in college will not. Thank you for your help and suggestions in advanced! ![]() What other options do I have when it comes to buying a suit within my budget ? Will the suit quality look worse / noticeable compared to other people that will be wearing suits if they drop around $500 or so on a good quality suit outfit, or can I get away looking good with a cheaper suit that is altered to fit well and matched together well (colors wise)? If I buy one of those for around ~90$ and then get it altered for ~50$ or so I can get two 3 piece suits for the price of one suit jacket. Now my question is if it's a good idea to buy a cheaper suit on amazon such as this slim fit 3 piece for $70 or this modern fit 3 piece in black / gray for $110 the other suit option I'm looking at is this 3 piece for $110 ![]() I also want to get a black or grey suit, just because it matches with more things. Right now I'm set on getting a slim fit navy (more blueish) suit, because I like the color, to match it with walnut/tan/brown shoes and a matching belt. However, I want to get a 3 piece set (suit jacket, vest, and pants) in addition to that a belt, shoes, socks, and a dress shirt with maybe a tie (I have 3). Have a question? Contact the ModeratorsĪs my title said I've never needed a suit but now that I'm in college I joined a fraternity and need to put together a more professional wardrobe.
